Vitamins and minerals are essential to the normal functioning of our bodies. They are necessary for our growth, vitality, and general well-being. They are involved in regulating metabolism, help convert carbohydrates into energy, and assist in forming soft tissue and bone. Usually we can get the right nutrients through our diet, however, sometimes even a great diet may not translate to proper nutrition at the cellular level. There can be many causes of this, which may include: poor digestion, food sensitivities, chronic inflammation, poor immune function, or chronic illness, or side effects from drug therapy.
IV involves the administration of nutrients in high concentrations to rapidly aid cellular healing by any of our lovely Naturopathic Doctors. Normally cells in the digestive tract facilitate the absorption of nutrients, however, in IV therapy, the digestive tract is bypassed with the direct infusion into the bloodstream. This allows the cells to rapidly obtain the nutrients needed to repair and regain strength.
Homeopathy is system of medicine based on the principles of “like cures like.” A homeopath views the individual holistically and aims to treat symptoms that occur on a physical, mental and emotional level.
Treatment is aimed at the individual who has symptoms rather than treating just the symptoms themselves, in this way homeopathy is not suppressive or simply palliative but rather treatment aims to address the underlying cause of the symptoms.
The primary goal of the homeopath is to prescribe a carefully selected homeopathic remedy, based on the patients symptoms, to stimulate the body’s healing mechanism to restore balance and health to the individual as a whole.
Homeopathy was identified over 200 years ago by a German doctor Samuel Hahnemann who wanted to understand more about the successful treatment of malaria using Cinchona Bark.
As a healthy person he ingested Cinchona Bark, he continued doing so until he began to experience symptoms, the symptoms he developed were malaria like symptoms - this gave rise to the principle of “like cures like” - if a substance can cause a set of symptoms then that same substance can be used to treat that set of symptoms.
Homeopathic remedies can be made from plant, mineral or animal sources - the chosen source is repeatedly diluted and succussed (shaken) until the desired potentization (strength) is achieved. Homeopathic remedies are so dilute that science refutes their ability to be effective.
Work done by Noble prize winner, Luc Montagnier, uses quantum physics to explain how homeopathy can be effective at these high dilutions. Furthermore, its effectiveness is demonstrated by its successful use for over 200 years in countries all over the world for the treatment of epidemics, acute and chronic disease.

What is the difference between a Podiatrist and Chiropodist?
Podiatrists practicing in Ontario studied their profession in the States, as there are no Podiatry program in Canada (other than in Quebec, but courses are taught in French). On the other hand, Chiropodists study in Canada. Another difference is that Podiatrists can perform bone and soft tissue surgery, while Chiropodists are trained to only perform various soft tissue procedures. Both Podiatrists and Chiropodists are Foot Specialists.
