Acupuncture is a therapeutic intervention rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) — one of the world’s oldest and most studied healing systems. At NatCan, it involves the use of small, sterile, non-reusable needles as part of a comprehensive treatment program or for acute conditions.
All of our Naturopathic Doctors have completed hundreds of hours of training in acupuncture and TCM as part of their naturopathic medicine degrees. Alisa Cesselli, our Registered Acupuncturist, brings additional specialized training with a constitutional TCM approach.
- Chronic and acute pain — back, neck, joints
- Hormonal imbalances and women’s health
- Fertility support and reproductive health
- Stress, anxiety, and nervous system regulation
- Digestive conditions and gut health
- Sleep disorders and chronic fatigue
- Headaches and migraines
- Immune support and overall wellness

Cupping is an ancient component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses glass or plastic cups placed on the body to create gentle suction — increasing circulation, releasing muscle tension, and supporting the flow of energy throughout the body. It is particularly effective for addressing muscle congestion, chest tightness, and deep tissue tension.
Cupping can be done as a standalone treatment or combined with acupuncture for a more comprehensive TCM session. The distinctive circular marks that cupping leaves are temporary and fade within a few days.
- Muscle pain, tension, and tightness
- Chest and respiratory congestion
- Poor circulation and lymphatic drainage
- Stress and nervous system tension
- Sports recovery and injury rehabilitation
- Headaches and neck tension
New vs. Existing Patients — How the Booking Process Works
The booking process for acupuncture and cupping at NatCan depends on whether you are a new or existing patient, and which type of practitioner you are booking with.
If booking with a Naturopathic Doctor, a Naturopathic Initial Assessment is required prior to booking.
NEW Acupuncture/Cupping Clients must book either:
Walk-In Acupuncture or Walk-In Cupping (Brief Assessment)
A shorter initial appointment specifically to assess your suitability and begin your first treatment. Ideal if your primary goal is acupuncture or cupping without broader health concerns.
*Walk-In Acupuncture - $120 - 45 Minutes
*Walk-In Cupping - $85 - 45 minutes
Naturopathic Initial Intake (Comprehensive)
For clients who want a full naturopathic assessment alongside acupuncture or cupping — covering all health concerns. This is the most comprehensive starting point and includes your broader health history.
*Initial Naturopathic Intake - $270 - 90 Minutes
Initial Acupuncture + Cupping Treatment (Brief Assessment)
A brief assessment combined with your first acupuncture and cupping session in a single appointment — the most efficient way to start if you want both services.
*Initial Acupuncture + Cupping Treatment - $190 - 90 Minutes
Initial Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (Brief Assessment)
For clients specifically seeking Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Includes a skin and health assessment before beginning treatment.
*Initial Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture - $230 for 120 minutes.
Existing naturopathic patients at NatCan can book Constitutional Acupuncture, Cupping, or Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Follow Up appointments directly online — no additional intake required.
Facial Rejuvenation “Cosmetic” Acupuncture is also offered at BOTH locations. Performed by BOTH our licensed acupuncturist, Alisa Cesselli (i.e. AcuGlow Facial Rejuvenation) AND ND’s - Drs. Stefania Iovine and Sabrina Perfetto.

Gua Sha Stone Massage — This treatment is for patients experiencing tight muscles, poor blood circulation, headaches, chronic inflammation, and stiffened tissues/knots. The goal of the Gua Sha Massage Treatment is to break up fascia, relax stiffened muscles and joints, promote blood circulation, and enhance tissue drainage. This treatment is based off of ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts that use scraping techniques with Jade Stones and Rose Quartz scraping tools. The Gua Sha massage may be performed on the back, arms, shoulders, and/or legs. Performed by our registered acupuncturist, Alisa Cesselli at BOTH locations.
Service Location: NatCan Weight Loss and Skin Clinic AND NatCan Integrative Medical and Wellness Centre.

Acupuncture and cupping at NatCan are offered by a combination of our Registered Acupuncturist, licensed Naturopathic Doctors, and Registered Massage Therapists — each bringing their own specialized training to your care.
Alisa is NatCan’s Registered Acupuncturist — bringing a constitutional TCM approach to acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Her treatments are insurance eligible as a regulated acupuncture service. Alisa’s warm, thorough approach creates a deeply restorative experience for each client.
All four of NatCan’s Naturopathic Doctors have completed hundreds of hours of TCM acupuncture training as part of their ND degrees. They offer constitutional acupuncture as part of an integrated naturopathic treatment plan — addressing the underlying root cause alongside your broader health concerns. Cupping is offered by Dr. Perfetto and Dr. Iovine.
NatCan’s Registered Massage Therapists also offer cupping as part of massage therapy sessions. Combining cupping with massage therapy provides deep tissue release and significantly enhances circulation and lymphatic drainage. RMT cupping sessions are insurance eligible as a registered massage therapy service.
Benefits of Acupuncture, Cupping & Facial Rejuvenation
Traditional Chinese Medicine at NatCan is delivered by regulated practitioners — integrated with your naturopathic care for a truly whole-person approach to health.
Acupuncture has been studied extensively and shows strong evidence for pain relief, headache management, fertility support, and nervous system regulation — making it one of the most studied and trusted natural therapies available.
Acupuncture and cupping both have measurable effects on the autonomic nervous system — reducing cortisol, promoting parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) function, and supporting stress resilience and sleep quality.
Cupping creates controlled suction that increases local blood flow, stimulates lymphatic drainage, and releases deep fascial tension — producing results that are difficult to achieve with hands-on massage alone.
Treatments with Alisa Cesselli, R.Ac. are eligible for insurance coverage as a regulated acupuncture service. RMT cupping is also insurance eligible. Check your extended health benefits before booking.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture works with the whole body — addressing the constitutional factors that show up in the face. The result is a natural improvement in skin quality, tone, and radiance that looks like the best version of you.
At NatCan, TCM treatments are coordinated with your naturopathic care plan. Acupuncture with your ND builds on your existing health history. Alisa’s constitutional approach complements naturopathic medicine beautifully.
