Naturopathic Medicine for Your Health Concerns
Our NDs take a root-cause approach to a wide range of health conditions — creating individualized treatment plans that address the underlying cause, not just the symptoms.
Our NDs investigate hormonal root causes behind symptoms that are often dismissed or masked by conventional approaches — from cycle irregularities to perimenopause.
Poor gut health affects virtually every system in the body. Advanced stool testing, dietary interventions, and targeted supplementation to restore gut function.
We look beyond TSH and basic bloodwork to find what’s actually driving your fatigue — whether it’s adrenal dysfunction, iron, thyroid, or something else entirely.
Addressing the physiological roots of mental health — nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, gut-brain axis dysfunction, and nervous system dysregulation.
Specialized naturopathic fertility support from Dr. Sylvia Santos — addressing hormonal balance, cycle optimization, and overall reproductive health for those trying to conceive.
Specialized naturopathic oncology support from Dr. Amita Sachdev — integrative care alongside conventional cancer treatment, plus preventative and chronic disease support.
Meet Your NatCan Naturopathic Doctors
Our licensed, regulated Naturopathic Doctors are available at Vaughan and Woodbridge. Each brings a unique clinical focus — book directly with the ND whose expertise best matches your health goals.

Dr. Santos holds a Master of Biomedical Science in addition to her ND designation and is NatCan’s specialist in naturopathic fertility support. As the owner and founder of NatCan Clinics, she built both locations on the principle that patients deserve thorough, root-cause care — not symptom management. She combines her advanced scientific background with a compassionate clinical approach to support patients on their path to optimal reproductive and overall health.
Dr. Perfetto is known for her thoughtful, patient-centred approach to naturopathic medicine. She works collaboratively with each patient to identify root causes and build sustainable health strategies that support long-term wellbeing — with particular expertise in hormonal balance, fatigue, and metabolic health.
Dr. Sachdev brings a unique dual background as both a Registered Nurse and Naturopathic Doctor. She is NatCan’s specialist in naturopathic oncology support, offering integrative care for patients navigating cancer treatment alongside conventional medicine. She also offers ear irrigation.
Dr. Iovine brings a comprehensive approach to naturopathic care, addressing a wide range of health concerns with evidence-based natural medicine. She takes the time to fully understand each patient’s health history before creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and goals.
The Naturopathic Booking Process
Naturopathic medicine begins with a thorough intake — your first appointment is longer than a conventional visit because your ND needs your complete health picture before making any recommendations.
Choose Your ND & Location
Review our practitioners above and select the ND whose clinical focus best aligns with your health concerns. Dr. Stefania Iovine is available at Vaughan only. All other NDs are available at both Vaughan and Woodbridge.
Book Your Initial Intake
All new naturopathic patients begin with a 90-minute Initial Intake appointment — in-person or virtual. This is where your ND takes a comprehensive health history covering everything relevant to your health concerns.
Lab Testing (if applicable)
Your ND may order advanced lab tests — hormone panels, stool analysis, food sensitivity testing, and more — to confirm their clinical findings and build an accurate picture of your health.
Receive Your Treatment Plan
At your second visit or a follow-up, your ND presents a clear, personalized treatment plan including dietary changes, supplementation, lifestyle modifications, and any additional therapies.
Ongoing Care & Follow-Ups
Your ND schedules regular follow-ups to review progress, interpret lab results, and adjust your plan over time. Most significant health concerns require 3–6 months of ongoing support.
Appointment Types
Your first appointment as a new naturopathic patient. Your ND takes a full health history before making any recommendations. All four NDs accept new patients at Vaughan; three NDs at Woodbridge (except Dr. Iovine).
Specialized intake for patients seeking naturopathic fertility support. Includes comprehensive reproductive health assessment.
Specialized intake for patients navigating cancer treatment. Integrative care designed to work alongside your conventional oncology team.
Second visit, extended follow-up, or ongoing care appointments for existing naturopathic patients. Available with all four NDs at their respective locations.

What Is a Naturopathic Doctor?
A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a licensed, regulated primary care practitioner in Ontario who combines evidence-based natural medicine with modern scientific knowledge. An ND can diagnose, treat, and prevent illness — addressing the whole person rather than isolating symptoms.
All NDs at NatCan are fully licensed and in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
First, Do No Harm
Using the safest, most effective therapies with the least risk of side effects or harm.
Identify & Treat the Root Cause
Going beyond symptom management to find and address the underlying cause of illness.
Treat the Whole Person
Considering physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle factors as interconnected parts of health.

Educating and empowering patients to understand and take responsibility for their own health.
Prevention
Assessing risk factors and promoting health to prevent illness before it occurs.

How We Treat — The Naturopathic Toolkit
NatCan’s NDs draw on a broad range of evidence-informed therapies — using the right tools for each patient, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Evidence-based herbal medicine using plant extracts with specific therapeutic actions to support healing.
Therapeutic dietary interventions and targeted nutritional supplementation based on individual testing and assessment.
Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques including acupuncture to support energy flow, pain relief, and systemic balance.
Comprehensive hormone testing, stool analysis, food sensitivity testing, and blood panels beyond standard bloodwork.
Therapeutic use of water to stimulate the immune system, improve circulation, and support detoxification.
Highly individualized remedies selected to support the body’s own healing response without side effects.
Personalized guidance on sleep, stress management, exercise, and environmental factors that affect health.
Physical medicine techniques to support musculoskeletal health, posture, and nervous system function.

Is Naturopathic Medicine Right for You?
Naturopathic medicine is for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of their health and a more personalized, root-cause approach to feeling well.
You’ve been told everything is “normal” — but you don’t feel normal
Standard bloodwork often misses subclinical imbalances. Our NDs use advanced testing and a broader clinical lens to find what conventional workups miss.
You want to address the cause — not just manage symptoms
If you’re tired of symptom-by-symptom management and want to understand why your body is reacting the way it is, naturopathic medicine is built for exactly this.
You prefer natural, minimally invasive approaches where possible
Our NDs use natural therapies first and integrate with conventional medicine where appropriate — you never have to choose between natural and evidence-based.
You want a practitioner who has the time to actually listen
Initial ND consultations at NatCan are 90 minutes. Your ND will know your full health history — not just what fits in a 10-minute appointment slot.
