What It Treats

What Microneedling Can Help Improve

Microneedling may be a great option if you want to improve:

  • Dull skin and uneven tone
  • Fine lines and early signs of aging
  • Mild acne scarring (appearance)
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Overall skin rejuvenation and radiance

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This supports collagen renewal and helps improve the appearance of texture, tone, and fine lines over time.

At NatCan we use the eDermaStamp® by DermaSpark — a professional-grade device that delivers precise, controlled microneedling with adjustable depth for customized results based on your skin type and goals.

It may also help support smoother-looking scars and pores, offers minimal downtime compared to more aggressive resurfacing options, and can be customized based on comfort, skin sensitivity, and goals.

Quick Overview

Best For: Dull tone, fine lines, mild acne scarring, enlarged pores, texture, overall rejuvenation

Treatment Time: Approximately 45–60 minutes

Downtime: Mild redness is common; many return to routine quickly

Results: Many clients notice brighter skin within days, with best results after a series

FAQ

Common Questions About Microneedling

How many sessions will I need?
Many clients complete a series of 3–6 sessions depending on their skin goals and treatment plan. Some clients with mild concerns are happy after 1–2 sessions, while those targeting acne scarring or more significant texture concerns typically benefit from a full series. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan at your free consultation.
Is microneedling the same as RF microneedling?
No — they are related but different treatments. Microneedling focuses on surface collagen stimulation by creating micro-channels in the skin. RF microneedling (like Morpheus8, which we also offer) adds radiofrequency energy to the needles, delivering heat into deeper layers of the skin and can target deeper concerns like skin laxity. Your provider can help you determine which is the better fit for your goals.
Does microneedling hurt?
Most clients describe a mild pressure or scratching sensation during treatment. We use comfort measures throughout the session — including topical numbing cream when appropriate — and adjust the intensity to match your goals and tolerance. Most clients find the treatment very manageable and are comfortable throughout.
Can microneedling help with acne scars?
Microneedling can improve the appearance of certain types of acne scars — particularly mild, textural scarring and shallow indented scars — by stimulating collagen production and encouraging skin renewal over time. A consultation helps determine whether your specific scars are a good candidate and what results are realistic. More significant scarring may benefit from RF microneedling (Morpheus8) instead.
Is there downtime after microneedling?
Mild redness is common after treatment — similar to a mild sunburn — and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Many clients return to their normal routine quickly. You will want to avoid makeup for the recommended timeframe and keep your skincare simple while your skin recovers. Your provider will give you specific aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Can I use my insurance for this treatment?
If you book with Dr. Natalie Stalteri, ND, your microneedling is performed as a naturopathic treatment and may be eligible for coverage under your extended health benefits plan. Please note that a Naturopathic Initial Intake OR an Intro Observ 520X skin assessment is required before this treatment can be submitted for an insurance claim. Treatments with Karen or Nurse Emily are not naturopathic and are not eligible for insurance coverage.
Is a consultation required before my first session?
For some clients a consultation is recommended to confirm suitability and create the best treatment plan — particularly for those with specific skin conditions or sensitivities. Booking online is the best first step, and your free consultation can often be completed at the time of your first appointment.
Do you serve Vaughan as well as Woodbridge?
Yes — our clinic is located in Woodbridge and we welcome clients from Vaughan, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg, Etobicoke North, and the broader GTA. Woodbridge and Vaughan are just minutes apart and many of our regular clients come from across the region.
